Judge questions Flint councilman on marijuana use during drunken driving plea
FLUSHING, MI -- A district court judge extensively questioned Flint City Councilman Wantwaz Davis on his marijuana usage today after Davis pleaded guilty in his drunken driving case.
On Tuesday, Feb. 7, Davis, 43, pleaded guilty before Judge David A. Goggins to a reduced charge of operating while impaired by liquor while driving his car into a highway guardrail on Sept. 3.
In October, Davis pleaded not guilty to a charge of drunken driving in Genesee District Court in October. He is currently free on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with conditions that he not drink alcohol, take drugs and submit to random and drug tests.
Goggins became visibly frustrated while asking the Fifth Ward Councilman about his marijuana usage -- a potential violation of his bond.
