Warren Mayor Jim Fouts' opponent in November election calls city administration corrupt
Hoping to win a fourth term as Warrens top city official, Mayor Jim Fouts (R) is headed for a showdown in November against his one-time aide and current councilwoman, Kelly Colegio.
It could be a heated one, if Colegios remarks Wednesday are any indication.
We will all need to work together to defeat the political corruption at the highest levels of the current administration, Colegio said in a Facebook post to her supporters less than 24 hours after she finished second to the incumbent mayor in this weeks primary election.
I look forward to reaching as many people as we can over the next three months, to inform them about what's really going on in our city government, to let them know that the mayor has changed and isn't who he purports to be, and to make sure more people vote in November. You see, Warren is at a crossroads. If we choose to go down the path of the old politics of the past, our children and grandchildren will continue to move away to other, more welcoming and thriving cities, we will continue to experience poor road conditions, unsafe parks, and declining neighborhoods, she said.
