We've had a wonderful carrier. I hope that this week she is only on vacation, because service is terrible and I cannot get any action from the customer service reps.

I am really considering canceling it. There is nothing there that cannot be found online, and the rah rah rah about high school girls basketball, not to mention college and professional teams is not worth the price of subscription.

Spouse is willing to wait for next year to see how the delivery will shape up.

1. Even if it's a new carrier, it will take time to learn the job

If the former carrier comes back in a week or so, it's great, but the new carrier could be very good after s/he learns the job.

I can't think of any better start to the day than reading the paper over breakfast. I think you'd miss it terribly, going online to read the news requiring a laptop or tablet and not catching any crumbs efficiently the way a paper does.

I would love to have a good local paper but here in the big city, it's fishwrap with a right wing editorial cartoonist. It only pisses me off and that's not a good way to start the day.
