There has yet to be a tax supported stadium that the strib will not like

Now it is the soccer one. Promoted by Bill McGuire who put UnitedHealth on the map as the poster bad boy of for profit insurance with $100 Millions annual compensation.

Oh, for a change, the group headed by McGuire will pay for the stadium, but it wants "lawmakers to grant a permanent property tax exemption and a sales tax waiver on materials used to build the stadium near the Minneapolis Farmers Market."

And besides McGuire who else is in the group? Why, non other than Glen Taylor, the owner of the strib.

The strib, of course, made a nice profit when its own building was sold to pave the way for the new Viking stadium. (Who paid, by the way? The Vikings or us? I think I know the answer.)

The strib should recuse itself from expressing any opinion on these matters. Not that it helped with the Vikings. And then there is the U stadium and St. Paul is getting one, too.

But, hey, other people's money. Yes, I know I sound like a Republican but with all reports showing that tax supported stadium do not contribute to the local economy and actually continue to demand more and more or else..

Minnesotans keep lining the pockets of the rich owners. Not the only state to do so, but this is getting old! Sports- yeah! Homeless and hungry? Sorry!

They should at least disclose, up front, the fact that their owner has an interest in the stadium before trying to tell us how wonderful it is. I have always been of the opinion that rich team owners should buy their own damn stadiums.

Remember the Twins Stadium, got to have it cause the Pollads will dump the Twins. How about the big time lie about the Metrodome. The big winner was the Star and Tribune and the looser was the Tax payers of the Metro area. Same included joke with the Viqueens. Red McCombs skips town with Billions. The only winners are the West Tonka Eden Prairie Crowd or the 1%ers. Noticed that the Strib is looking more and more TeaBillie with each passing week.
