December 28, 1972 - Harry S Truman was buried in a simple ceremony

in the garden outside his office at the Truman Library in Independence. One of the first arrivals for the funeral was Missouri Senator Stuart Symington. He had just flown from Washington, DC, where he attended the funeral of his wife.
