Anywhere for a couple of progressives to vacation for a week or so?

We live in Chicago but are dying to drive some place south for a little warm weather. Anywhere with good food, vegetarian, organic etc. A place with some interesting shops, wineries and places for hiking and the like?
Thanks very much.

so I wouldn't plan on escaping the cold. There is lots to do in Missouri, but I would think waiting a bit would open more opportunities. I am sure the Missouri and the St. Louis tourism sites would have lots of information.
