Driver shoots carjacking suspect, police continue to search for others involved
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —The Albuquerque Police Department is currently investigating a carjacking and shooting that occurred Monday night in Northeast Albuquerque near Montgomery and Carlisle.
Officers said three armed males tried to carjack a couple in a parking lot. According to police, the driver of the car shot the suspect in the head, and that the suspect is currently hospitalized.
The two other male suspects ran off and have not been caught.
Police are continuing to investigate the situation and said the driver will not be charged.
APD is asking anyone with information to call 505-242-2677.
