NRC bans nuke worker who admitted violation at Indian Point

Staff and wire report,

A former Indian Point supervisor who admitted falsifying test data to cover up fuel contamination at the nuclear power plant in Buchanan has been banned from the industry for one year, officials said Tuesday.

Daniel Wilson has been temporarily barred from taking part in activities licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, of NRC, agency officials said.

and visit a park that wasn't too far away. I cringed every time I drove past the signs for Indian Point.

If they're part of the local plan, the NRC provides them and they're staged locally so that they can be distributed in the event of an emergency.

There's little point in distributing them apart from an emergency because most would be lost, and some would be taken out of paranoia (and there are potential side effects).
