Daily Kos swings at Klein with online petition power

Rick Karlin

Albany

The progressive Daily Kos website has launched online petitions against conservatives such as Charles and David Koch, Nevada rancher Clive Bundy and Rush Limbaugh. And it has used them to support liberal leaders such as Democratic U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Daily Kos is now aiming at the New York Legislature, with a petition seeking the political demise of Senate Independent Democratic Conference leader Jeff Klein.

Daily Kos readers whose computers have New York-based IP addresses last month saw a pop-up petition that blames Klein for denying mainline Democrats control of the state Senate through his group's power-sharing arrangement with the Republicans.

The petition also urges former attorney general and lawmaker Oliver Koppell to launch a primary bid against Klein.
