Rep. Jerrold Nadler gets behind Charles Rangel's re-election bid

CELESTE KATZ

Rep. Charles Rangel has notched the support of another of his Congressional colleagues, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, in a tough primary for a 23rd and final term.

"Having previously served as Ranking Member/Chair of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice, I know that we need leaders like Charlie Rangel to help bring about real criminal justice reform, and to continue to protect our civil rights and civil liberties," Nadler said in a campaign statement Tuesday morning.

needs to start TODAY with a write in campaign. It can be done especially since he has been in Congress 50 years, the constituents know him and he has PLENTY of time to ensure a success.

I know he can do it. If he can't then we are in deep trouble. He could probably run nationally and do the same thing and win. However, he only has to ensure his district writes his name on the ballot.

I tend to think the primary will be very close. The reason is redistricting and the district is a large part of the Bronx now and the area is not used to voting for him.

His opponent has name recognition and may win. I tend to think if he looses he will bow out.
