Veterans Community Suspected To Be Third Suspected Illegal Toxic Dumping Site On Long Island

ISLANDIA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Another suspected illegal toxic dumping site has been discovered in the Town of Islip.

As WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs reported, toxic soil is suspected in homes built in Islandia for returning war veterans.

The discovery follows on the heels of the study of illegal asbestos dumping at a park and a construction site in the Town of Islip.

“This is terrible. How could you just dump where people live?” one man told Xirinachs.
