Cuomo: Moreland cases should be "pursued vigorously"

LOHUD

After the disbanding the state's corruption-busting panel in the middle of its work, Gov. Andrew Cuomo today said that the panel's finding should be "pursued vigorously" by prosecutors.

The 17-member Moreland Commission was brought to an abrupt end by Cuomo as part of the budget negotiations in March, and members said they had dozens of cases of potential wrongdoing by lawmakers in their sights.

Cuomo has been criticized for ending the panel, with critics saying he cut a political deal with the Legislature rather than let the work continue. His administration has also been accused of interfering with the commission's work.

Your right. They have super majorities in the legislature anyway in MA. hrmjustin May 2014 #8

Ah screw it. We've suffered enough. Everyone has to share the pain.

Besides... I doubt if Cuomo's act will go over for very long in Massachusetts. The natives are used to quality public servants. ( I know they don't think so but they don't realize how fortunate they've been.)

The bar is so damn LOW here. If we were producing Patricks, Barney Franks and Elizabeth Warrens.... Cuomo would still be tryng to get himself elected state atty general.

We get Deval. I guess we have to trade them at the border.
