3 stabbed, 8 shot in violent night in New York City

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Police are investigating a pair of subway stabbings across two boroughs that added to an already violent night in New York City, where six people were shot and three others stabbed since 10 p.m. Monday.

The first stabbing incident happened around 3 a.m. in Brooklyn, at the Prospect Park station on the Q line. One person was stabbed during an attempted robbery, and the victim was rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Then, just before 4 a.m., two men were stabbed on a southbound No. 4 train at the East 116th Street Station at Lexington Avenue. The circumstances of the incident are unknown, but is believed the incident started with a dispute of some kind.

One victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital and the other to Harlem Hospital. Both are expected to survive. Two suspects fled the station and no arrests have been made.
