De Blasio’s Italy-vacation agenda

Gloria Pazmino

The de Blasio family’s upcoming vacation to Italy will be part pleasure and part business, according to a top administration official. The trip, planned for nine days, will include meetings with local government officials, a visit to de Blasio’s ancestral homeland, and sit-downs with influential locals.

The family will depart on July 18 around 8 p.m. and return on July 27 around 4 p.m.

The first leg of the trip will include stops in Rome, Capri, Naples, and Venice.

The mayor and his family will then travel to Grassano, the town where de Blasio’s maternal grandmother was raised before immigrating to the United States in the early 1900s. The first family will also make a stop in Santa’Agata de Goti, where the mayor’s grandfather was born.
