NYSUT joins A.F.T. in urging members to boycott Staples

ALBANY—New York's largest teachers union is encouraging its members not to buy their school supplies at Staples this fall, pushing a boycott of the retail chain because of its plan to offer mail services using non-union employees.

New York State United Teachers joins the national American Federation of Teachers in the boycott, which the groups committed to in solidarity with unionized postal workers. The American Postal Workers Union boycotted Staples earlier this year, when the chain announced it would offer postal services at some stores.
