Jimmy Vacca to introduce bill to bring wi-fi to all parks

ERIN DURKIN

City Councilman Jimmy Vacca (D-Bronx) will introduce a bill Thursday to require the city to come up with a five year plan to install wi-fi in all city parks.

So far, wireless internet is available in only 21 parks - making expanding it to the city’s more than 1700 green spaces within five years a highly ambitious goal.

But Vacca, chair of the Council’s technology committee, said his bigger worry is that parks across the five boroughs aren’t getting equal treatment when it comes to wi-fi.
