The 7 train is the best subway line in the New York City system, and the 2 train is the worst, according to the Straphangers Campaign's annual report card, released Wednesday.
The 7 train, which connects Times Square to Flushing, is no stranger to this sort of acclaim. It was also top line in 2010 and has won first place more than any other line in the surveys 16-year history.
Nor, for that matter, is the 2 train a stranger to this sort of ignominy. It was rated worst subway line in 2011.
For riders, the subways can range from daily trips on a lucky 7 to being stuck with a terrible 2and everything in between, Gene Russianoff, senior attorney for the Straphangers Campaign, said in a statement. Disparities abound and have come to define our city's subways."

(68,644 posts)1. I was always a Lexington Line kind of guy, the 4,5,6 took me most places I ever needed to go.
I don't recall needing to ride the #2 ever, but I use to ride the #1 a lot to visit girlfriend in Washington Hts., and the #7 and the F lines.

The second ave line should make life on the Lexington line easier.

Or not. It was attractive in it's historic qualities, but the crowdedness and litter on the beach- not so nice, back then.
Oh those were the days!

The D train runs over the old B line in Brooklyn.
