MARY ESCH, The Associated Press

ALBANY >> The Department of Environmental Conservation is revising its proposed management plan for new state land in the Newcomb area of the central Adirondacks to incorporate a new community-connector snowmobile trail, in response to public comments.

The agency released the plan in June for the Essex Chain Lakes complex in Hamilton and Essex counties, about 90 miles northwest of Albany. A proposed snowmobile trail to connect Indian Lake, Newcomb and Minerva was to be considered separately.
