Sierra Club Endorses Teachout

The Atlantic chapter of the Sierra Club, an environmental group opposed to hydrofracking, endorsed on Monday the Democratic primary campaign of Zephyr Teachout — a development her campaign said was a sign of momentum following the backing of the National Organization of Women.

“I am so proud to have won the support of the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. We have a shared vision for a New York where those who oppose hydrofracking and fossil fuel infrastructure have their voices heard in Albany. We are excited to work together to move New York towards renewable sources of energy to build our economy and protect public health,” Teachout said in a statement.
