Teachout calls for power to be returned to LIPA

UNIONDALE—Democratic gubernatorial candidate Zephyr Teachout made a stop at the Long Island Power Authority headquarters today to renew her call for a return to the days when LIPA ran the island's utilities.

"The attorney general no longer has oversight. The comptroller no longer has oversight. So Long Islanders no longer have somewhere to go to say, 'This is wrong, this isn't working, investigate this," Teachout told a group of about 10 activists.
