Editorial Board

Come out, come out, wherever you are, Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

3. New York House candidates tap into their own cash

ENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Some House candidates across New York are digging deep into their own pockets this election.

Democrat Aaron Woolf has devoted more than $400,000 of his own money in his race against Republican Elise Stefanik for an open U.S. House seat in northern New York. In the Hudson Valley, Democrat Sean Eldridge has contributed $1.34 million to his bid to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Chris Gibson, according to the most recent federal campaign filings.

7. Bill de Blasio gives endorsements to his underdog supporters

ANNIE KARNI

Flatbush district leader Rodneyse Bichotte alienated many people in her community last year when she backed Bill de Blasio for mayor over former Controller Bill Thompson.

But the unpopular decision is paying off. Bichotte — now vying for an open Assembly seat in Brooklyn — is one of four little-known candidates Mayor de Blasio has chosen to endorse because they were early backers of his underdog campaign

13. The GOTV Campaign

Nick Reisman

From the morning memo, ICYMI:

Getting out the vote: It’s an important aspect of political campaigns that’s rarely seen publicly by voters, but deeply important for candidates.

For the primary campaigns of Zephyr Teachout and Tim Wu, they’re relying on a combination of grassroots support and labor groups that have endorsed them.
