City Asks High Court To Review Sugary Drink Ban

NY1News

As expected, the city will not be giving up on its sugary drink ban without a fight.

The Bloomberg Administration on Monday asked the state's highest court, the Court of Appeals, to review a mid-level court ruling that shot down the bill last week.

That decision said the ban was an overreach of executive power.

The bill would put 16-ounce size limit on sugar-filled drinks in restaurants and other places.
