Report: NYPD Officer Accused In Wrong-Way Crash On Long Island

MALVERNE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A driver – reportedly an NYPD officer – was accused of crashing into five other vehicles as he drove the wrong way on Long Island early Saturday, a report said.

Ronald Holmes, 48, of Elmont was driving a Mazda MPV east in the westbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway near Exit 17 in Malverne around 1:45 a.m., police told Newsday.

He allegedly struck five cars, the newspaper reported.

One person was taken to Nassau County Medical Center for minor injuries, while two others were treated at the scene and were not hospitalized, the newspaper reported.
