Vigil planned to protest closing of Brooklyn hospital

BROOKLYN (WABC) -- Community members in Brooklyn will come together Sunday night for a candlelight vigil to protest the planned closure of a hospital.

Interfaith Medical Center in Bedford-Stuyvesant is going to close in November, despite countless demonstrations.

There's little chance of saving the medical center, along with Long Island College Hospital in Cobble Hill.

State officials say they can no longer afford to pump millions of dollars into the failing institutions.
