Spitzer, Stringer Attack Each Other's Records In Live NY1 Debate

The Democratic candidates for city comptroller faced off in a live debate on Monday that aired on NY1.

Eliot Spitzer and Scott Stringer met before a live audience at the CUNY Graduate Center, squaring off over the role of the office they both want.

Much of the debate's focus was not on pension funds and bond ratings, but instead on their records, including Spitzer's resignation and Stringer's support of extending term limits.

Stringer also continued an attack against Spitzer's self-financed candidacy. Spitzer has already spent more than $3 million to run for comptroller.
