Anybody else care about the Constitutional Convention vote?

1. I've seen numerous lawn signs opposing it. Here's a good explanation of what it means:

2. That's a good explanation of it all. I'm fascinated by all the "No" lawn signs...

and bumper stickers around here, many with Trump bumper stickers or Republican lawn signs. I haven't seen anyone for it, and we've got some hot local elections coming up with nobody talking the ballot props.

Personally, I dread the thought of the lobbyist orgies if there was a convention, and I can't imagine anything good coming out of it in these times.

3. All the lawn signs I've seen are "No" signs, too, though it's likely they don't make "Yes" ones, LOL

And though I'm in a traditionally Republican area, I saw exactly two Trump bumper stickers before the election and the Republican congresswoman who won a second term last November is extremely unpopular - there have been a series of organized protests and already seven Democrats and one Republican have lined up to run against her - so far.

And you're right, propositions usually don't get this much attention. From what I've read so far, I have to agree that it's a bad idea, especially in these partisan times.

Also a billboard or two. There was a NY Post editorial supporting it.

I haven’t studied the issue so I don’t have a strong opinion. If I had to decide right now I’d probably say no. I don’t think it’s worth the time and expense. Could something good come out of it? Maybe, but we don’t need another massive state election to make little or no change.

6. It is a Koch brothers effort, beginning in NY and and they'll roll it out to other states as the

opportunities arise. In NY the opportunity only arises every 20 years. If there is a new convention, it will allow them to open the convention and rescind collective bargaining rights, eliminate already earned pensions, basic environmental protections, change rules for working hours, and a host of other things.

In this day and age, I have no doubt that Republicans would lie and cheat and hack to remove all the rights that are in the document.
