Most City Reps Undecided On Syria Intervention

NY1News

Most members of the city’s Congressional delegation have not decided whether to support President Barack Obama’s call for military intervention in Syria.

A survey of the 12-member delegation by NY1 found that two lawmakers support it and two oppose it.

The other eight lawmakers are undecided.

Democrat Eliot Engel and Republican Michael Grimm said they agree with President Obama that the United States must act because the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against civilians in its civil war.

Democrats Charles Rangel and Nydia Velazquez say they oppose any military strike.
