Three college students charged with on-campus rape

NEWBURGH – A female Mount Saint Mary College student was sexually assaulted on the Newburgh campus early Sunday morning and city police have arrested three male students.

Police said the girl was attacked between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. That afternoon around 2 p.m., police arrested William Service, 18, of Rocky Point, Glendon Glashen, 18, of Hempstead, and Michael Curatola, 18, of Brooklyn, all of whom were charged with first-degree rape.

All three defendants were arraigned in Newburgh City Court before Judge Peter Kulkin and released on $25,000 bond each.

Michael O’Keefe, executive director of operations and security safety for the college, said it was “a difficult time” for the school. “It is not normal for us. We are trying to get through it.”
