NY Air National Guard member killed in Afghanistan

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A member of the Air National Guard’s security force assigned to the 105th Airlift Wing at Stewart Airport has died while serving in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense said Staff Sgt. Todd Lobraico, Jr., 22, of New Fairfield, CT died on Thursday, September 5 from wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire near Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.

Lobraico was assigned to the 105th Security Force Squadron at the Stewart Air National Guard Base in Orange County.
