African American Day Parade Celebrates Pride, Culture In Harlem

The 44th annual African American Day Parade made its way through Harlem on Sunday in a celebration of pride, culture and the area's rich history. NY1's Jon Weinstein filed the following report.

Under perfect skies, the African American Day Parade made its way up Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and through Harlem on Sunday.

"We here to represent black pride baby, all day, black pride," said one parade goer.

"This parade celebrates African American culture, and it's also one of the few parades that actually takes place in Harlem instead of on Fifth Avenue," another parade goer said.
