Washington Navy Yard gunman identified as Aaron Alexis-From Queens NY

WASHINGTON (WABC) -- Law enforcement officiials have identified the gunman killed in the Washington Navy Yard shooting as Aaron Alexis, a Queens native who lived in Texas.

Alexis has lived in Queens and Brooklyn, but most recently lived in Seattle and Fort Worth, Texas. He served as aviation electrician's mate in the Navy between 2007 and 2011.

Authorities said Alexis was identified after the attack Monday morning inside the Washington Navy Yard, spraying gunfire on office workers in the cafeteria and in the hallways at the heavily secured military installation in the heart of the nation's capital, authorities said.

Officials said 13 people were killed.

We have 13 more people to mourn, all due to gun violence.

The NRA must be so very proud of themselves.
