Schumer supports President’s decision to allow people to keep their health plans

WASHINGTON – President Obama’s announcement Thursday that he will allow individuals to keep their own health insurance policies that had been cancelled under the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare&quot has the support of US Senator Charles Schumer (D, NY).

Schumer said the move was a good one, but it needs further study.

“I think it is very important that people who were made the promise that if they wanted to keep their insurance they could and I think the President is now trying to address this,” Schumer said. “This is a good thing. We will be looking at his proposal carefully to make sure it covers any many people as possible.”
