New York City pushes to ban E-Cigarettes

Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York City has some of the toughest laws against smoking in public and now it's taking it a step further as now the city council is pushing to ban e-cigarettes.

New legislation moves to ban the use of electronic cigarettes in public spaces.

If it passes, it would make the battery operated e-cigs illegal to use in restaurants, bars, parks and beaches.

"I think they should they should ban in all restaurants public places like they do regular cigarettes," said Jose Torres.

about fracking and magical (currently legal) chemicals, tar creek and metal in the environment, and hordes of things big business does to turn a profit while children are dying in this country (we're #1 and all that) but we definitely need multi-billionaire mayors telling us we can't smoke anywhere in NYC, then later we can't vape (ecigs /= to cigarettes) anywhere either. Meanwhile, enjoy your jog on 5th Ave in Manhattan at 6am past countless heaps of uninspected trucks delivering products, Pope forbid you encounter someone vaping. Clutch the pearls!

If we allow people to quit smoking and vape instead, next thing we know, we'll have companies illegally parking trucks that failed emissions on the curb delivering healthy high-fructose products to the masses.

This is happening for one reason only...the wretched drug war once again. Many vaporizers are for pot and they can't tell the difference which makes it harder to bust people. There is nothing wrong with regular ecigs as they vaporize and DON'T combust material. Just more deception from those in control.

can be hazardous to the health of bystanders....

Seriously, when is NYC just gonna give up banning everything under the sun, and issue a short summary of what you are allowed to do?

I am sure the usual suspects will be along to bitch about trace chemicals...with no clue about what the world about them consists of, nor what they shove down their gullets, organic or not.
