Attorney arrested after investigation into financial scamTN
BRUNSWICK - State Police in Rensselaer County announce the arrest of Marcia Doyle, 49, of Averill Park.
Doyle, a local attorney, was arrested subsequent to a yearlong investigation into a financial scheme, carried out by her in which she obtained large amounts of money from victims, most of whom were clients, friends, and business people throughout the area. She would obtain large sums by promising very high return rates and short turnaround times. Most victims never received any repayment.
She was charged with Grand larceny in the third degree and Scheme to defraud in the second degree. Doyle was arraigned in the Town of Schaghticoke Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. Additional charges are pending.
