Former Yankee, Broadcaster Jerry Coleman Dead at 89

NY1NEWS

Former New York Yankee and Hall of Fame broadcaster Jerry Coleman has died.

A friend tells the Associated Press that Coleman had recently undergone surgery for bleeding in the brain.

Coleman made his major league debut as a second baseman with the Yankees in 1949.

A year later, he was an All-Star and was named World Series MVP as Yankees swept the Phillies.
