Police Trace Final Steps Of Murdered Queens Woman

Police are looking into the death of a Queens woman whose body was found in the trunk of her own car. Sources say the victim is Young Joo Byun, 42. She was reported missing on Friday. Investigators say her body was found Monday afternoon in Woodside. The city medical examiner has ruled her death a homicide.

Police say Byun was last seen around 4 a.m. last Friday leaving the Maspeth bakery where she worked. They're working to trace her movements after she left. Her co-workers say they can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt her. "We are very torn. We mourn. Very shocked. Of all people never thought anything bad would happen to her," said one co-worker. "She left with a significant amount of baked goods, so the speculation is she was meeting somebody," said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

Police are also looking into Byun's phone records as they try to track down her killer. Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
