Brooklyn Councilman Steve Levin Proposes Bill To Tighten Rules On Youth Football

BY ERIN DURKIN
Strict regulations would be slapped on youth football games under a bill being introduced by Councilman Steve Levin.

The Brooklyn Democrat wants to require a doctor to be on the scene for every football game played by kids.

Levin said he’s responding to growing concerns about concussions and other long-lasting injuries suffered by kids who play football.

“Football teaches teamwork and sportsmanship, builds character, and keeps our children active, but safety has to be prioritized before winning games,” he said.
