BY KEN LOVETT
Gov. Cuomo this morning tried to reclaim the "tale of two cities" theme back from Mayor de Blasio in the name of his father, former three-term Gov. Mario Cuomo.
"I know the tale of two cities very well," Cuomo said during an appearance on WNYC public radio. "I was in the audience in 1984 at the Democratic Convention when it was articulated very well."
Cuomo was, of course, referring to his father's classic keynote address taking apart then President Reagan's portrayal of America as a "shining city on a hill." Mario Cuomo's response? "In fact, Mr. President, this is a nation --. Mr. President you ought to know that this nation is more a "Tale of Two Cities" than it is just a "Shining City on a Hill."
De Blasio made the "tale of two cities" a campaign theme that he has kept in the first month of his administration.

I wonder why the idea of a tax targeted toward the wealthy bugs him so much.

(11,344 posts). . . any legislation from the Governor designed to address inequality? So far, his economic policies channel Reagan more than any Democrat.
It's only after Bill won with universal pre-k and a Tale of Two Cities that the Governor picked up on it and hurriedly stuck it in the budget. Before that he was mute and disinterested.

I think Cuomo is an underhanded closet Republican.
