Boy shot in Bronx park to push for tougher gun penalties

Eyewitness News
NEW YORK (WABC) -- A toddler who survived being shot will join state leaders on Wednesday to push for tougher penalties against gun violence.

Luisito's Law is named for 3-year-old Luis Oyola, Jr.

He was at Vidalia Park last summer when he was hit in the arm by a stray bullet.

The proposed legislation calls for a tougher minimum sentence for anyone who shoots a child under the age of 10 or shoots a weapon near a playground, park or school.
