Fork Mayor de Blasio used to eat pizza auctioned off

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The fork that stirred up a controversy for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio will now be doing its part to help New Yorkers.

The infamous fork that de Blasio used to eat pizza at a Goodfella's Pizza on Staten Island sold at auction Friday night for $2,500.

The auction ended at 12:01 a.m. Friday with 6 bids that started at $1,000. The winning bid came from an anonymous bidder.

All proceeds will go to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a New York-based nonprofit whose mission is to honor the families of the first responders killed on 9/11.
