Person taken into custody after fires at malls in Queens

ELMHURST (WABC) -- One person was taken into custody for allegedly setting at least four separate fires in stores in two malls in Queens.

Authorities say the man used a lighter to set fires in the Rego Park Mall at 96-05 Queens Boulevard, including a Sears and Old Navy, all reported at about the same time.

Fire marshals believe the small fires are linked to another small fire Monday at the Macy's at Queens Center Mall, which is several blocks north at 90-15 Queens Boulevard.

No injuries were reported in any of any of the fires.
