Knicks PG Raymond Felton arrested on gun charges

NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton was arrested early Tuesday morning on three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, according to a New York Police Department spokesman.

Felton, 29, was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, which are felonies, and fourth-degree possession of a firearm, which is a misdemeanor, the spokesman said.

Sources say Felton's wife, who filed for divorce last week after just 19 months of marriage, brought the gun to the police precinct and told authorities she had found it in her West 63rd Street home.

The weapon is reportedly a .28-mm Belgian pistol, a large gun capable of firing armor-piercing bullets. Sources say 17 bullets were recovered in the magazine and another in the chamber.
