Democratic NYS Sens. Tim Kennedy And Ted O'Brien Won't Say If They Support DREAM Act

KEN LOVETT
Two upstate Democrats whose votes would be needed have refused to publicly say whether they would support creation of a state DREAM Act to allow the state to provide financial assistance to the college kids of undocumented immigrants.

Of the chamber’s 32 Democrats, as many as 29 are expected supporters of the legislation. A third, Sen. Simcha Felder, a Brooklyn Dem who sits with the Republicans, is said to oppose the measure.

That leaves Democratic Sens. Tim Kennedy of Buffalo and Sen. Ted O’Brien of Rochester as the only Dems not to have staked out a public position. O'Brien wouldn't reveal his position to the Daily News.
