Former N.Y. Gov. Paterson donates his papers to Columbia University

NEW YORK (AP) >> Former New York Gov. David Paterson has donated his papers to Columbia University, his alma mater.

The university’s Rare Book and Manuscript Library announced Wednesday that it has acquired papers from Paterson’s time in office as lieutenant governor and governor from 2007 to 2011.

The collection includes 84 linear feet of papers as well as 2.8 million pages of digital files.

A library spokeswoman said most of the papers will be available to researchers with no restrictions. She said a few sensitive files won’t immediately be made public.
