David Tarloff found guilty in meat-cleaver murder trial

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Jurors have found David Tarloff guilty of murder in the death of a Manhattan woman in which he used a meat clever.

Defense lawyers argue that the schizophrenic Tarloff didn't know what he was doing when he slashed Kathryn Faughey to death with a meat cleaver in 2008.

Prosecutors say he knew what he was doing was wrong, despite his psychiatric history.

Jurors went home for the day after deliberating for about an hour Thursday.
