Cuomo-as-Pinocchio demonstrators make last angry budget plea

Lawmakers are voting on the 2014-15 budget — the Assembly has already passed the first budget bill while the Senate is in conference and a variety of about 200 demonstrators under the All of Us banner gathered in the Capitol’s War Room outside the governors chamber for what looked like a last-gasp, at least for now, cry against the spending plan which they say shortchanges public schools, the poor, homeless and others.

Then some of them donned Nixon-like Pinocchio masks, to highlight what they feel are the liberal ideas that Cuomo has betrayed in the spending plan, and railed outside the closed Senate lobby.
