Schumer endorses ‘tenacious’ Rangel

Azi Paybarah

Senator Chuck Schumer is endorsing Rep. Charlie Rangel for reelection, as the 83-year-old is fighting for a 23rd and “final” term in office in one of the most closely watched races in New York.

Schumer, who generally avoids making endorsements in primaries, called Rangel “a tenacious fighter” and “someone who has delivered results” and “an effective progressive leader.”
