New union president says teachers will not endorse Cuomo

Tom Precious

ALBANY – There were no signs of warming of relations between New York State United Teachers union and Gov. Andrew Cuomo after Karen Magee, a longtime public school teacher in Westchester County, ousted longtime union president Richard Iannuzzi over the weekend.

Magee, the first woman president of the 600,000-member union, said, when asked, that she had received no phone calls from the governor since her election by NYSUT delegates on Saturday.
