Mayor de Blasio unaware of FBI probe into his animal rights allies

Mayor de Blasio said he had no clue the FBI was looking into the animal rights group that helped torpedo Christine Quinn's City Hall campaign, and that no one from the agency had contacted him.

The Daily News reported on Friday that the feds were probing the independent expenditure group NYCLASS, the animal rights group that backed de Blasio and sank $174,000 into last year's elections. Most of that money went to the political action committee NYC is Not For Sale, which ran nasty attack ads against Quinn.

When asked if he knew about the allegations, de Blasio said "No."
