Team Adriano Espaillat V. NYC Board of Elections, Round 2?

The Democratic primary brawl for Congressional District 13 isn't just a rematch between Adriano Espaillat and Charlie Rangel: It may be turning into another brawl between Team Espaillat and the city Board of Elections.

The Board is warning potential pollworkers that it -- not any campaign or political club -- will be doling out the jobs come the June 24 vote.

The Friday caveat drew a sharp response from state Sen. Adriano Espaillat's campaign, which accused the Board of trying using "scare tactics" to tamp down support for his challenge to incumbent Rangel.

The Board sent out a notice after receiving a copy of an email from the Northern Manhattan Democrats for Change, a club Espaillat founded, promising that those who attend organizational meetings in support of Espaillat's campaign will be "guaranteed" work on Primary Day.
